The Stoiber-Stegmann Duo

The Stoiber-Stegmann Duo For more than ten years Walter Stoiber (flute) and Winfried Stegmann (guitar) have been connected not only by an active concert career but by a close friendship. This is plain to hear and feel on the concert stage, where their uncompromising search for musical intensity and expressivity has allowed them to achieve an unforgettable fusion in the sounds of their instruments.

Their CD "Modinha - The Music of South America" met with enthusiastic reviews on the cultural pages of such leading newspapers as "Die Zeit" and the "Hamburger Abendblatt".

The duo achieved its artistic breakthrough with a portrait appearance in the "Musikzeit" television series of Germany's ZDF Broadkasting System. During the broadcast Christoph Eschenbach exclaimed: "With these two you can see the fun of music-making!"
Since then they have made guest appearances at many major festivals and concert series, including the Schleswig-Holstein Festival, the Schwetzinger Festivals, the Heidelberger Spring, and the Lake Constance International Festival.
